Club Profiles

American Bush

Stage Layout: American Bush has a single elevated stage with a firepole, backed with mirrors.
Drinks: No alcohol is allowed. American Bush serves juice, soda, and O'Doules.
Atmosphere: When you are tired of the obstructed view afforded by pasties and thong-backs, give American Bush a try. Just as the name implies, the girls at the Bush are completely and utterly unclothed. The performances at the American Bush are not nearly as bachelor-party-esque as out-of-state nudie bars, but are a refreshing change from the usual Utah fare nonetheless. No touching allowed while the girls are on stage, but you are allowed minimal contact during private sessions with the girl's consent. Stage-side seating is not as plentiful as one might like, but there are rows of sofas and chairs just beyond. Unlike Utah's clubs and taverns, American Bush closes at midnight.

Goldbar Saloon

Stage Layout: Goldbar Saloon has a small floor-level stage with a firepole.
Drinks: Goldbar is a tavern, which means beer is the only alcoholic beverage sold. Beer is served in pitchers or mini-pitchers.
Atmosphere: Judging by some of the reviews I have read, Goldbar would seem to be a typical biker bar. However, after having visited the establishment, I would have to say Goldbar Saloon is no more a biker bar than Sociables or any of the other small strip joints. The atmosphere is relaxed and uncrowded, and Goldbar stands alone as a billiards bar aside from the nude dancing. If you're looking for an inexpensive place to play pool, drink beer, and check out some very hot young strippers, go to Goldbar Saloon. Like the owner told me, it's just a little tavern - a good place to go if you want to drink beer and have a good time.

Golden Fleece

Stage Layout: Golden Fleece has a single central stage with 4 corner firepoles. The stage is set at approximately ground level which provides for a good chest-high view of the dancers.
Drinks: One of the few strip taverns left in Salt Lake City, the Fleece serves beer only.
Atmosphere: The Golden Fleece is a classic Utah-style strip tavern. No entrance fee for patrons. The windows are boarded with signs showing dancing girls, beckoning the patrons inside. One peculiarity I noticed at the Fleece was that dancing stopped at midnight.

Million Dollar Saloon

Stage Layout: There are a total of 5 stages at the Million Dollar Saloon. The semicircular main stage is located at the rear of the establishment, next to the DJ booth. There are 4 smaller stages along the sides of the club, each occupied by a dancer on busy nights. All of the stages stand at approximately 2.5' high, and all but one feature a firepole. The stages are surrounded by a walkway and railing that separates the dancer's area from the main floor.
Drinks: Beer steins are available for the usual strip joint prices. Liquor is available at the bar or from the bikini-clad shot girls that circulate the club.
Atmosphere: The Million Dollar Saloon is clean and well-kept. Stage-side seating is modular, with a personal table for each patron. The club utilizes mirrors and a large array of electronically controlled neon lights to provide an interesting backdrop for the dancers. Rotation is rapid, and dancers often sit and chat with patrons on busy nights. There is a single pool table at MDS.

Paradise

Stage Layout: The stage at Paradise is backed with mirrors and light and stands at approximately 4', with high stools that bring the dancing surface to waist level.
Drinks: Being an all-nude club, soft drinks are available.
Atmosphere: Paradise is a smallish, darkly lit venue. The girls are young and seem more amateuresque than the girls at American Bush. You can expect to see less closeup maneuvers onstage, less aggressive solicitations for private sessions, and generally less silicone. There are a couple of pinball machines for those who would rather not watch the girls.

Sociables

Stage Layout: Sociables is a smaller establishment that features a single circular stage with a firepole. The stage stands at approximately 3' high.
Drinks: Beer is available in pitchers or bottles for the usual strip club prices.
Atmosphere: Sociables is a functional club, focusing the patron's attention on the central stage. Dancers cue their musical selections on a jukebox in lieu of a DJ, so there's no cheesy monologue to endure between sets. No pool tables or video games to distract the clientele.

Southern X-Posure

Stage Layout: There are 3 separate stages at Southern X. The front stage stands at approximately 3.5' and is circular with a central firepole. The next stage is a nearly ground-level stage area that allows for two simultaneous dancers on busy nights. The ground-level stage gives the stage-side seats a comfortable chest-high view of the girls, and allows for the possibility of interaction between the two dancers. Around the corner, there is a third stage which stands at approximately 2.5'.
Drinks: Liquor is available, often served by holster-toting hotties on busy nights. Beer is served in steins only (no pitchers).
Atmosphere: One notable feature at Southern X is the plush stage-side seating. There are a few televisions and pool tables on the perimeter of the club. Dancers frequently sit and chat with patrons between sets.

Trails

Stage Layout: Formerly known as Golden Trails, Trails features two separate stages. The larger central stage is comprised of two runways which are both in operation depending on how busy the establishment is. On peak nights, the smaller corner stage is used along with the center stage. Both stages are approximately 3.5' high.
Drinks: As of December 1, 1998, liquor is now being served at Trails, which means a club membership fee is required. Domestic 3.2% beer is also available in bottles, glasses and pitchers for a reasonable price.
Atmosphere: As with all titty bars, Trails is mostly dark. The stage is lit with the obligatory black-lights and the sound system is plenty loud. There are 4 pool tables within good viewing distance of the main stage. The stage-side seats are plentiful as Trails is one of the busiest clubs in SLC.
