As I wrote earlier, I'm not sure what to make of this-and welcome comments and/or observations. Even the Editor writes: "It is not intended here ot establish creditability of these alleged visions and messages. What is intended is to publish all that is considered pertinent...Issues of creditability and theology are for future qualified authorities." And in the Epilogue he writes: "We can analyze, acclaim or criticize what has been written. This accomplishes little...We can, though, open our hearts to God. We can choose from this book that which we perceive as good and from God."

I tend to agree. I don't know whether the visions and messages in the book are of Divine origin or not, but does it truly matter? Isn't what is important not so much the origin, but the message itself and what can be discerned from the message through prayer and thoughtful meditation? And, above all, isn't what we do with the message, how we apply it to our lives, how we allow it to transform our lives for our good, for the good of others, and for the good of the church? Perhaps it is through the fruits born from these messages that we can determine their ultimate origin. In any event, I do recommend this book for the visions and messages within-wherever they did come from-have gotten me to think and have had what I believe to be a positive impact on my spiritual life. And that's not bad for $5.00!

My Spiritual partner and I are reading through the Bible together. We are following a pamphlet titled "Through the Bible in a Year," but it was designed for protestant Bibles and doesn't cover all the books of the Catholic Bible (does not contain readings for Maccaees or the Wisdom books for example). We really like the format combining Old Testament and New Testament readings each day. Example Jan 1st Gen1&2; Matt 1; Jan 2nd-Gen 3,4,5; Matt 2 etc... But I'm really looking for something that covers all the books of the Catholic Bible. Local Catholic bookstores have nothing. So I was hoping that maybe one of you has come across somethign that I could use. If so, I would be very grateful if you would send me two copies! Thanks.

In this mailing I am enclosing a pamphlet from Equitable Telephone Charges (ETC) Campaign. It was on blue paper, so I'm not sure how well it photocopied, but I'm hoping that it will be clear enough so that each of you can have it copied and will forwar those copies to any prison inmates, and especially any family and/or friends of prison inmates. Riow, a 15-minute call to any of my out-of-state friends cost almost $1.00 per minute! And to make things even worse, the Department of Corrections gets a 40% kick-back!! This is just plain wrong and we need as many people tojoin our campaign as possible to try to get these rates reduced to reasonable levels. And it is not just Connecticut, but in prison systems nationwide that this is happening. Please make copies of this pamphlet and promote it among anyone who might be interested in helping us stop the phone companies from price gouging that only affects the family and friends of prison inmates-our family and friends are being punished because they love and care enough for us to want to hear our voices.

There are still no decisions yet made in either my Double Jeopardy Appeal before the Connecticut State Supreme Court, or by Judge Miano as to whether or not he will allow in the recent brain scan tests (which show brain damage) or allow Bishop Hart to testify on my behalf. It is hard to just sit here and wait, but I have little choice-the judical system seems to be in no hurry! I really can understand why some people drop their appeals and "volunteer" for execution-all the anxiety, frustrations and endless waiting is far worse than death itself. It is ironic how the public sees execution as punishment when many of us who live on death row see it as blessed relief. After 15 years of fighting, I have little fight left, and while I would prefer a life sentence, I would take death right now, just so this would finally be over. But I try to have faith, and try to remember the following quote from Thomas Kempis in The Imitation of Christ: "Lord, since you were patient during your lifetime, thereby fulfilling the will ofyour Father, it is only right that I, a most wretched sinner, should bear all things patiently according to your and, for as long as it pleases You, should support the burden of this corruptible life for the sake of my soul's salvation." (I actually have this quote laminated and taped to my wall next to my bunk.)

Well, by the time you get this, Thanksgiving will have come and gone, and Christmas is just around the corner! I hope that you are enjoying the holidays and have had a chance to get together with family and friends. Do not under estimate the value of your family or of your friends-too often people don't realize the value of what they have until it is forever taken away from them. I found this the hard way-learn from my pain. If you are estranged from someone on your family, or a past good friend, reach out to them with love and forgiveness and reconcile now while you still can. Life passes so quickly and is filled with so many regrets- we often think that there is so much time to make right the mistakes of our lives, but there isn't. Forgive, reconcile, and reach out to others now because before you know it, it will be too late. Trust me, for I know what I am talking about.
