Edward Carroll Cole
Between 1971 - 1980, roaming from California, Nevada, Texas, Wyoming, to Oklahoma, this serial strangler stated that he was driven to kill "loose women" because they reminded him of his mother.
Some of the victims were stripped and sexually abused after
death. He claimed that he was drunk during his killing sprees.
In Nevada, he wanted a non-jury hearing because he wanted to receive the death
penalty, a sentence more likely to be given by a judge.
