Boudoir Photography

There is a great episode of the Simpsons in which Homer wins one free session of "Boudoir Photography". He doesn't know what it is. He looks up boudoir in the dictionary and he finds the definition "of or pertaining to a bedroom, private". His eyebrow raises...hmmmmmmmmm. He flips madly through the dictionary at the listing for 'Photography'. Does he get it yet? He looks suprised and expresses a sense of confusion. He goes back and looks up boudoir again. AH! Eureka! He gets it.

Early photographic erotica was the pornography of it's day. However, it's quite interesting to look at now. Not for it's sexual nature, but just the sense of composition, the neutral black and white giving more line and definition to female form. It seems artistic and sweet now. I wonder if in 70 years will Jenna Jameson deep-throating Peter North be considered artistic? Will Elvis someday take the place of Jesus? Who can see the future - but I reckon NOT.
