A Paisley barbers shop which plans to have topless female staff members has
caused further anger by using a poster of a naked woman’s torso to advertise the
salon.
Management at the barbers, called ‘A Bit Off the Top’ have placed the banner
across the shopfront, prior to its opening in April.
Glasgow SNP MSP Sandra White, who is leading a protest against the shop, which
is directly opposite a church, said it was "deeply offensive". She said:
"How many legitimate hairdressers would advertise using a headless figure?
"This is nothing more than a glorified lapdancing club. It is not the kind of
thing that is needed or wanted in Paisley."
Ms White plans to lead a campaign against the establishment when it opens for
business on 14 April.
She has already raised a motion in the Scottish Parliament calling for
legislation against such shops.
