The News Monster is gone for good. A lot of the links inside it will be forever dead, but so it goes. If you have never been here before, you'll still get the idea. We posted links to news stories. Some were our own stories. We wrote some funny headlines, some just factual headlines – but it was all news. And each 'edition' was popped into an archive so you kind of get a snapshot of each days news. It was interesting in that, though I was posting NEWS stories, I still put them in a directory called ARCHIVE, even the previous days news page was put into the ARCHIVE because I knew that even at a day old, todays news becomes simply archival. And even though the past is prologue, what are you gonna do with 'old news'? And in the end, it's all old news. I get emails occasionally from people asking when/if it would come back. The answer is no, GOD NO. Never. Matt Drudge is still out there. Sure he doesn't focus on the same types of stories or aspects of stories that the News Monster did, but you'll know what's basically going on in the world, albeit from a gay republican standpoint. Go ahead, Matt, call me on it. And yeah, he won't release the address and phone numbers of public personalities and people who do awful things, but seriously – what were you all gonna do with that information when I gave it to you except get in trouble? Which was part of the problem this website ran into before anyways. Like the old Big Mac styrofoam containers, it's NOT coming back. Besides, 40 is the new 25. And having a life is the new old website. If it doesn't make you richer or happier, why do it!?
